Violence

Our Feature Section

What is violence? Violence is something that a lot of people see on TV. I see violence everywhere when I watch TV. My brothers are very violent from watching wrestling.

I watch wrestling too, and I can be very violent sometimes, when I’m not in a good mood. My dad watches wrestling a lot also, so my brothers are used to watching people fight, and of course girls who dress up like hookers, which is not very entertaining for other girls. We girls shouldn’t sell our bodies to violent people who are disgusting pigs.

Mr. Mcmanhon was currently sued by a girl wrestler named ‘’Sable.’’ She claimed the wrestlers themselves were peaking at her and the other women. S able, of course, won.

I’ve seen so much violence between me ,my brothers, and my sisters. My parents had a lot of problems between all of us. My parents have so much problems that they had to ask people if we could spend a night at their place so they could relax for a while. I was rarely at other peoples places because I was the little angel until I got older. I think that I should watch less violence and more o.k. movies. Well, at least I should convince my dad to make my brothers stop watch wrestling and start watching other shows like Annie!

TEEN VIOLENCE

?WHY DO WE TALK ABOUT IT? BECAUSE IT’S BECOMING A BIG PROBLEM IN TODAY'S SOCIETY? WHY ARE PEOPLE VIOLENT? WHAT PROVOKES THEM? I BELIEVE THAT IT IS ALL CAUSED BY FAMILY PROBLEMS, AND THAT IS WHEN DRUGS COME INTO THE SITUATION?

?CHILDREN THAT ARE NEGLECTED IN THEIR CHILDHOOD OFTEN GROW UP TO BE IN VIOLENT SITUATIONS, AND IT FOLLOWS THEM INTO THEIR SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT, AND MAKES WORKING CONDITIONS HARDER FOR THEM AND HARDER FOR THE PEOPLE AROUND THEM. IT’S HARDER FOR THEM TO MAKE FRIENDS BECAUSE THEY FEEL LESS IMPORTANT, BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD BETTER LIVES, AND OTHER PEOPLE TEASE THEM WHICH LOWERS THEIR SELF CONFIDENCE EVEN MORE. THEN THESE NEGLECTED PEOPLE GO OUT ON THE STREET WITH NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE AND START SELLING DRUGS FOR MONEY, THEN THEY START DOING THE DRUGS AND THAT BRINGS OUT EVEN MORE HATE IN THEM.

WHAT KIND OF THINKING DOES THIS BRING OUT INTO THIS WORLD?

DOES THE WORD COLUMBINE WRING A BELL?

VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS

When a parent sends their child to school in the morning, they expect their child to be in good hands throughout the whole day, but that’s not the case in many schools, actually almost every school. It is a problem that schools have been dealing with for many years and don’t quite know how to deal with, except for giving suspensions and detentions, and that, to tell you the truth doesn’t, do a hell of a lot.

?The question to be aked is what else could the schools do about violent acts? For one, security should be more enforced; many schools don’t even have any security to begin with. After the Columbine masacre, I’m sure that security was enforced in all schools, but in our school I can’t really say much about it. Any person could come in one day and just start shooting away and there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

ALcohol and Drugs By Brenda ?

Last night at 12:00 someone found a boy dead. When he was brought to the hospital they notice that he over-dosed on drugs. Everyone knows that a lot of teens are doing this, but we don’t really do anything about it and we should. All the parents should get together and do something and the school too. I think that a lot of teens are doing this because of peer pressure. And it is not only from kids. It is because of 40 year old adults who are selling the stuff and pushing it on teens. Most parents don’t even know that their kids are doing this.

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

Drugs and alcohol makes kids go crazy; they are fighting and killing. These days kids are taking drugs and drinking. Taking drugs you can get Aids. Aids are bad. It kills. After parties kids are drunk and they start fighting and somebody gets hurt and has to go to the hospital. With kids drinking and driving there are even more accidents and it dose not just kill them,it kills other people too , like kids little kids that don't have time to experience life because of a person that drove while drinking and killed them.

"SO DON'T DO DRUGS".

ALCOHOL, DRUGS, AND SEX

All of these things are addictive. Each one of these things usually leads to the other. It is not too often people can use one of these things and not go one to the next.

This is the way that sex wedges its way into the situation too; it is like anything else. When people are intoxicated they tend to act a little more loosely, in a more provocative manner. To some it makes the night a little more interesting. For some it is a way to pick up chicks, but those people should be ashamed.

AND WHAT ABOUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT?

I'm pretty disgusted;

I mean we live in a world where crimes come at us from all over. One of the crimes that hits the hot spot is sexual harassment. Believe it or not, it happens to you everyday, just as we're taking walk through school. Hey buddy, an innocent little look can give you a lot to think about behind bars; no matter how old you are.

When you have just begun being a victim of sexual harassment, all sorts of questions go through your mind. Is this right? Should I continue? Should I stop it and tell him or her no?

When you get to the end, either you said no, or the person just committed rape, and you're the victim. But now it's your turn to get back at him or her. That may sound bad, but even if you put your life on the line you have to do something, because if you don't, they'll continue to harass others. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like that.

Now the hard step, of telling someone. Questions like, What do I say? Is that what happened? Are they going to believe it? These are the questions that keep you up at night, while you are trying to make your decision.

When you decide to tell, well let me say, good for you. I for one am behind you 100%. Next thing you know that person is behind bars, you are living your life normally and that's it.

But it's not, it takes more than that, more than that one little sentence I wrote. I mean yeah, you'll make it, but it does take time.

My message to you is this…. If something in your heart is telling you this is wrong, and you feel uncomfortable about it, please follow your heart, and tell someone you can trust as soon as possible.

Hang In !

?Violence to me is a horrible thing. I mean how can anybody try to raise a child in this world with all the violence.

?We’ve got good violence and we’ve got bad. Good, means to protect oneself from someone trying to hurt us; for ex., if a man or women comes in our home with a gun to our heads, what do we do? Now we have a good chance of hitting him or her over the head with a vase, or we can let him of her shut our brains out. Now if I were you, I’d go for the first one!

?Lets say you’re a violent person, or you’re the person that likes to fight. That’s not really a good way to solve your problems because, you hurt your loved ones with your behaviour.

?We all know even play fighting is as violent as anything else. If kids see it being done, even in fun, they’re going to think its right.?

?I grew up with violence my whole 13 years; so I know how it can be. I also know how some kids have it worse than me, and I just have to say... hang in and you’ll get through it.
